Cuckmere Valley Canoe Club (CVCC)

We are a kayaking & canoeing club based in the beautiful setting of the Seven Sisters Country Park, between Eastbourne & Seaford on the banks of the Cuckmere River. During the 'season' (for us that is usually April-October), the Club meets every Sunday from 9.45am to about 12.30pm. Join us and get paddling.
CVCC is a family-friendly club. We welcome everyone, from 8 years old upwards, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced paddler looking for a new challenge. The Club has equipment that can be used by members, so just come along.
We are primarily a club that introduces people to paddlesport and develops their skills to a competent standard. There are many directions our sport can take and the Club will do its very best to guide you. We offer 1* and 2* if you want to take British Canoeing qualifications, or you can just enjoy paddling with no formal levels.
Our Club is in the perfect location: each Sunday, we can pick from the flat waters of the meanders of the Cuckmere River, the tidal section of the river down to the sea and the Cuckmere Haven Bay about a mile away. Here, we paddle on the sea or play in the surf when possible. Regular trips away from the Club include those to River Medway, River Wye and various whitewater courses.
All our coaches are British Canoeing qualified, DBS checked and insured. They are all volunteers and give their time freely to run sessions/events for the club. In additon to the general Sunday paddling sessions on the Cuckmere River, the club also runs various courses & events throughout the year - see the Calendar for more detail.

Want to give us a try before joining?
During the summer we run Go Canoeing 'Come and Try It' sessions open to non-members. Please see 'Go Canoeing' under the Information tab for more details or email if you have any questions. We usually publish all Go Canoeing dates for the summer in May which is when booking opens. Please note you must be booked on one of these sessions to attend.
