🌳 Barcombe Camping Weekend at Boathouse Farm 🏕️🛶

Come and join us for one of the most relaxed and social weekends of the year!

Set in the stunning Sussex countryside, right beside the River Ouse, this is a fantastic opportunity to unwind, explore, and enjoy some time on the water — or just kick back around the campfire. Whether you’re a paddler or not, there’s something for everyone.

🛶 What’s on offer?

  • Riverside tent-only camping (vehicles parked in nearby on-site car park)

  • Gentle, family-friendly paddling – perfect for SUPs, kayaks, and canoes

  • Beautiful local wildlife – keep your eyes peeled for kingfishers, swans… even mink!

  • Relaxed river routes – ~2km paddle to The Anchor pub, ~5km to The Falls

  • Plenty of local walks, wild swimming, and space to unwind

  • Great chance to connect with other club members in a fun and informal setting

  • £20 per adult / £10 per child per night

    Please note: registering with us does not confirm your place — campsite booking is essential to secure your space.

🧼 Facilities on site:

  • Showers & toilets

  • Basic washing-up area

  • Flat, grassy pitches

  • Right next to the river!

🚨 Good to know:

  • Suitable for all ages and all paddling abilities

  • River is slow-moving and safe for kids

  • Wildlife-rich environment – great for nature lovers

  • Some areas of the river may require a little ducking under branches – all part of the fun!

🛶 Club Equipment Loans for Members

In addition to supporting regular club sessions, CVCC is delighted to offer club equipment to members who don’t have their own kit — making it easier to join club-led trips and external courses.

If you’d like to borrow a boat or equipment, please send an email to equipment@cvcc.org.uk at least 10 days in advance. Be sure to include:

  • What boat and/or kit you’d like to borrow

  • The purpose (e.g., trip or course)

  • How long you’ll need it for

⚠️ Please note: Club kit cannot be loaned for non-club events, including peer paddles, due to insurance restrictions.
