Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Beach Day on 25th August. There will still be a normal club session and we can still have a picnic next to the Barn afterwards if people want to do that. Depending on the weather we may be able to rearrange the Beach Day next month.
On Sunday 25th August we are planning a Beach Day and Picnic at Cuckmere Haven.
The plan is to leave the Barn at around 9.30 am as normal and have a leisurely paddle down to the beach at Cuckmere Haven. When we get there you can paddle in the sea, go for a swim or just kick back and relax. We will also have a picnic so bring something to eat and drink with you.
N.B. We will be arriving after low tide so it’s likely that we will need to walk our boats the last part of the way. Please make sure to bring sturdy footwear for walking on the riverbed pebbles. A sling or rope to drag your boat would also be useful if you have one.
We plan to stay at the beach until around 2.30 or 3 pm, returning with the tide and aiming to be back at the Barn by 3.30pm at the latest. On the way back there may also be an opportunity for some river play for those who want it as the tide should be good for that.
The trip will of course be weather dependent and will be confirmed a couple of days in advance.
No need to book, just come along on the day.
Note: Friends and family are welcome to join us at the beach but they will need to be able to get themselves there. They will not be able to use any club boats or other equipment.
