This is an easy but beautiful paddle for kayaks and SUPs. We will start in the centre of Canterbury and go through the Venice-like waterways, under low bridges and buildings. You will need to kneel (or lie) on your SUP for most of the bridges!
It is a linear route, so we will paddle around Canterbury then paddle up the Great Stour towards Chilham. We will stop on the bank for picnic lunch before paddling back; so the length of the paddle can be flexible depending on the weather/ water conditions/ consensus of the group. It is all sheltered river.
We will meet at the car park at 9am. It is a short portage to get in by Miller’s Arms pub. CHANGE OF TIME. I suggest we meet later… It’s a winter Saturday after all. So, join for breakfast 9am and then meet in the car park 10am.
You will need to pay for car parking at St Radigund’s Car Park, the fee will be about £12 depending on how long we are paddling.
If you want to start the day well, the Millers Arms does a lovely breakfast so you will find me there at 8.15am (ish)!
To start with, we are limited to 16 spaces due to coach cover.
