Cardington White Water trip 2022 – Members only
Please book a ticket on our website, so we know who is going, however the main website (link below) is the one to book onto.
Their booking website seems a bit complicated however stick with it and make sure that you tick the right boxes you need with the correct dates.
The Cardington White Water course in Bedford has been hired out by Addlestone Canoe Club again this year. It is an excellent course for paddlers to have a go at a low level white water in safe conditions. All crafts are allowed on the course, from kayaks, SUPS, Sit-on-tops, inflatables, rubber rings and flamingos etc.
The course will be setup on Thursday pm (help needed) then paddling on Friday to Sunday.
There is the option of one, two or three days paddling
Camping is available on site or there is a Premier inn nearby. Please note that there are no toilet or shower facilities onsite.
Friday 3rd June to Sunday 5th June 2022
This is the perfect weekend for white water beginners:
For those who haven’t been before this is an excellent facility to have your first go at white water kayaking or for those who just want to work on skills. The course is really as safe as it can get and is great fun. We have to build the course so again another opportunity for you to learn about how water works.
Club members will be welcome to come for the day or book camping and if sociable shared meals, depending on numbers.
Pre- booking Tickets are available to purchase now via ACC’s Web collect, which we are trying for the first time for Cardington and multiple bookings, though names and basic details will need to be completed by adult head of family or Group leader and I hope Parent Consent forms should be downloadable or completable on- line. They will be needed for all under 18s on 31 May 2022.
More details contained on the link below:
The course is situated at the south east of Bedford’s Priory Country Park and is accessed via Stannard Way (part of Priory Business Park) which is just off Bedford’s A421 southern bypass. Follow Stannard Way until you see a left turn with a brown sign to Priory Country Park.
The course is just 2.5 km downstream from Bedford town centre and about 4km from Bedford’s Viking Kayak Club. If you wish you can tour on the River Great Ouse, one of the cleanest low level rivers in the UK, through the Bedfordshire countryside and there are lovely trips both upstream and down.
