Experience the Thrill of White Water: This is a great course for beginners & paddlers wanting to improve their skills, move from flat water to white water, or practice the skills required for more advance course like Lee Valley. Spectators and on the bank support will be welcome to join us (no charge to spectators & on the bank support.)
Nene Water Centre: This is a prominent adventure sports facility located in Northampton, UK. It was the UK’s first pumped artificial whitewater course, designed by Proper Channels Ltd and built in 1999. This is a 300-meter course which is equipped with three pumps that control the water flow, allowing the difficulty level to be adjusted.
Supervised Paddlers We will have coaches Steve & Pip to support our beginners to white water (12 spaces for newbies are available). We will be providing bank safety within our group of 12 paddlers as well as on the water advice and coaching throughout the session, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our 12 WW newbies!
Unsupervised Paddlers: Anyone who has been before to the Nene can sign up as Unsupervised Paddlers as Peer Paddling outing.
Parking Information: The parking area is conveniently located near the centre, making it easy to access the various activities and amenities available. Parking is free of charge.
Facilities: There is a café onsite for refreshment, changing and showering facilities will be open as well.
Equipment: You will need a suitable boat, spray deck, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle. If you would like to borrow a club boat / equipment, please send an email, with a minimum of 10 days’ notice to equipment@cvcc.org.uk. The email should include what boat and equipment you are asking to borrow, for what purpose and for how long. If you have never done any Moving Water activities, please make sure to talk to the WW coaches to make sure you are borrowing the correct equipment and have a boat suitable for WW.
