🌊🚣 Dive into White Water Adventure at Lee Valley Legacy Course! 🚣🌊
Hastings & District Canoe Club have invited us to join them for a private hire of the Legacy Course at Lee Valley.

📅 Date: Sunday 12th May

🕗 Time: 7:30 AM – Arrival & Registration | 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Paddling Session

Be sure to arrive promptly at 7:30 AM for registration and a safety briefing, with paddles hitting the water by 7:45 AM sharp.

📍 Location: Lee Valley White Water Centre

🌟 Experience the Thrill of White Water: As this is a private hire, you do not need to have completed the assessment to be able to paddle the course. This is a great course for paddlers wanting to improve their skills, move from flat water to white water, or practice the skills required for the Olympic course. Spectators (we need pictures!) and on the bank support will be welcome to join us (no charge to spectators & on the bank support.)

📍Lee Valley White Water Centre: The centre was built for the London 2012 Olympic games, operating as a community resource in the lead up to – and following – the event. The centre contains a 300m Olympic canoe slalom course, and a 160m intermediate course. The Legacy Loop, which we will be using, is a 160-metre-long grade 3 rapid with a drop of 1.6 meters in height. This rapid is fed by three pumps supplying 10,500 litres of water per second.

🛶 Expert Guidance: The Legacy Loop offers a dynamic environment which replicate Grade Two Whitewater features suitable for all levels. If you are a regular to the annual Cardington or the Nene, this is the next step up  in white water. This is suitable for paddlers comfortable in the moving water. Intermediate paddler will find less technical areas to build confidence, while experienced paddlers can tackle more challenging features to push their limits. We will be providing bank safety within our group of paddlers as well as on the water advice and coaching throughout the session, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Learn new techniques, conquer obstacles, and unleash your paddling potential.

🚗 Parking Information: Ample parking is available on-site, but please remember to sign your car in at the visitor centre to avoid parking fees.

🛶 Equipment: You will need a suitable boat, spray deck, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle. If you need to borrow any club kit, please complete a loan form, but please be aware that you will need to be able to transport this yourself. We would need at least 2 weeks’ notice to ensure appropriate vessel is selected with necessary gear (BA, Paddle, Cag, etc) and is adjusted. Collection can be arranged closer to the date.

💷 Cost: The cost for this trip is £15.80 per person and is bookable below.

🛶 Boat Demo: In addition, Matt at the Lee Valley shop is happy to do demo boats half price for the private hire with pre booking. If interested, please email him directly at £10 usually £20.

This event is fully booked.
