Location: Lee Valley White Water Centre

Pirates Canoe Club have hired the Legacy Course for exclusive use for this session and have invited CVCC members to join them.

Please book your place directly with Pirates Canoe Club.

Cost is £18 for adults and £10 for juniors.

CVCC members will need a code to be able to book and this will be circulated in the clubs WhatsApp chat, or you can email cvcc@cvcc.org.uk if you are not on WhatsApp.

Experience the Thrill of White Water: As this is a private hire, you do not need to have completed the assessment to be able to paddle the course. This is a great course for paddlers wanting to improve their skills, move from flat water to white water, or practice the skills required for the Olympic course.

Lee Valley White Water Centre: The centre was built for the London 2012 Olympic Games, operating as a community resource in the lead up to – and following – the event. The centre contains a 300m Olympic canoe slalom course, and a 160m intermediate course. The Legacy Loop, which we will be using, is a 160-metre-long grade 3 rapid with a drop of 1.6 meters in height. This rapid is fed by three pumps supplying 10,500 litres of water per second.

The Legacy Loop offers a dynamic environment which replicates Grade Two Whitewater features suitable for all levels. If you are a regular to the annual Cardington or the Nene, this is the next step up in white water. This is suitable for paddlers comfortable in the moving water. Intermediate paddler will find less technical areas to build confidence, while experienced paddlers can tackle more challenging features to push their limits.

Parking Information: Ample parking is available on-site, but please remember to sign your car in at the visitor centre to avoid parking fees.

Equipment: You will need a suitable boat, spray deck, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle.  If you would like to borrow a club boat / equipment, please send an email, with a minimum of 10 days’ notice to equipment@cvcc.org.uk. The email should include what boat and equipment you are asking to borrow, for what purpose and for how long.

Please book directly with Pirates Canoe Club using the the booking code we will circulate separately.
