All fingers and toes crossed please!
The club have organised the annual Wye trip….and we hope COVID doesn’t get in the way.
If you are a member and have never joined us for this trip, why not come and give it a go…..suitable for all paddlers.
The schedule:
Friday 30th July – travel to the campsite and get settled in – have a BBQ (bring your own) or book to eat at the campsite’s bistro. There are usually some games to join in with Club members, but we can’t promise our version of camping cricket obeys any rules! Then bed down ready for a Saturday paddle.
Saturday 31st July – all day paddle down the Wye in open boats (or bring your own boat/SUP). Picnic lunch. Back to the campsite for a BBQ or dinner in the onsite restaurant. We will be paddling from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat; this includes a section of grade 2 rapids, which are perfectly manageable with guidance. Bring a packed lunch and snacks for the paddle.
Once back at the campsite, it is BBQ or bistro, games and chat. But it is not compulsory to hang out with the Club!
Sunday 1st August – pack up and be off the site by 11am. Sone people who have brought own boats like to paddle before heading home.
If you want to join us and get moving after months of lockdown, please contact Lucksall Campsite and book a pitch or a luxury pod – places are booking up fast so don’t leave it too late. When booking make sure you say you are with CVCC and they will book you into one of our reserved spaces (they try to get us all in one field – Long Meadow – so we can be sociable).
