This is an annual trip organised by the Club that is a great chance for members, their family and friends to come together for a weekend of camping and paddling.
Camping: Lucksall Caravan and Camping Park
The campsite has tent pitches, hook-up pitches or pods. Please book directly with the campsite: 01432 870213. Tell them you are with Cuckmere Canoe Club so that all our pitches are near each other.
We gather at Lucksall Caravan and Camping Park on the Friday and (weather allowing) play games, bring our various BBQs together and gather round for chill and chat. Lucksall does have a bistro but we do not know if this will be open given COVID restrictions. Updates will be provided.
On the Saturday, we go for a group paddle (see below) and then gather back at the campsite for food in the evening.
On Sunday, those that have their own boats head to Symonds Yat East while others head home from the campsite.
Paddle: Ross-on-Wye to Symonds Yat West
On the Saturday, we do a group paddle. This year, we will be going from Ross on Wye to Symonds Yat West. This is a 13 mile paddle and suits all ages and skills. For more details visit: http://www.wyecanoes.com/activities/river-wye-canoe-trips/full-day-ross-to-symonds-yat/
15 minutes beyond Symonds Yat West are the Symonds Yat rapids for those that want to paddle on to play and then come back up for the shuttle.
For the paddle, you can either hire a canoe or bring your own kayak/SUP/canoe. To hire a canoe please choose from the tickets below:
- 2-adult canoe
- 3-adult canoe
- Family-canoe (2 adults, 2 children)
- A space in a canoe, if you do not have a group/pair sorted)
We will need to sort out shuttles and/or book a taxi minibus (at extra cost) from the campsite. This will be sorted out once we have all the numbers and Government guidance on social distancing. Each boat will need to pay £2 launching fee on the day.
