This is an excellent annual Club trip. Suitable for all ages, it is a great opportunity to bring your whole family along for a paddle or to escape the family and hang out in a field with fellow paddlers!
We have reserved pitches (some with hook-up, some without) and glamping pods at Lucksall Caravan & Camping Park in their Long Meadow.
We have reserved some canoes for the Saturday to paddle down the Wye, taking in Symonds Yat.
For those of you with your own craft, there will be a river paddle for kayak and SUP on the Wye on Friday (we will need to sort out a shuttle) and then a group play at (or in!) Symonds Yat on Sunday.
All members and friends and family are welcome.
To come along you need to book your camping ASAP. Just call Lucksall: 01432 870213 and tell them you want to be in the Long Meadow part of Cuckmere Valley Canoe Club (booked by Kate). You can stay for just the Friday and Saturday or extend either side and stay Thursday to Monday.
For the Saturday paddle, we will paddle from Kerne Bridge, through Symonds Yat to Monmouth. This is approximately 14.5 miles. We will have a lunch stop so make sure you bring food, snacks and drinks with you.
We need to meet at Monmouth Canoes at 8.15am and they will transport us to Kerne Bridge. We should arrive back in Monmouth around 4pm.
You can either hire a canoe or bring your own kayak/SUP/canoe. To hire a canoe you can choose from:
- 2 person canoe
- 3 person canoe
- Family canoe (2 adults, 2 children)
- A space in a canoe (if you do not have a group/pair sorted)
The canoes are £31.20 per person.
If you are bringing your own boat, you may be able to grab a lift in the minibus from Monmouth to Kerne Bridge, for a charge of £5 per person (cash on the day). This will be dependant on numbers, please email us at cvcc@cvcc.org.uk if you would like to do this.
We will need to sort out shuttles and/or book a taxi minibus (at extra cost) from the campsite to Monmouth Canoes. This will be sorted out once we have all the numbers. Each boat will need to pay £2.50 launching fee on the day.
